LOVE Me Some *Ruby*!

YEAH! I LOVE the show Ruby and I see it will be a new season starting Sunday. It is so interesting to me to watch someone battle their "demon" in a real way. It sounds like she has gained some of her weight back and I feel badly for her..I just plain FEEL for her! No matter what the addiction or obsession or problem in one's life, it is hard to keep moving forward. None of us are in this life alone (even if it feels like it at times) and we all share common problems.
I'll be in front of my tv set on Sunday watching...I don't usually get too excited about television in general, but this has caught my attention. If you haven't watched it, you might give it a shot!
Have a good one everyone!

  1. I read yesterday that Ruby has gained 60 pounds and is very upset about it. She's a really neat person. I have watched her show a few times but my Sunday nights are usually filled up with other programming. It's about the only night I'm committed to watching TV. Maybe I'll tape a few episodes. Rosie loves Ruby, too.

Mare, what's the weather report for this weekend there? Spring is just teasing us now!

  2. Hi Mare, I have not seen this show. I have heard about it but must watch other shows when it is on but I will look for it.She seems like such a nice person.
From the last post-Katie,it is only reasonable to get aggravated with your MIL.You are so nice to do whatever you can for her.

Oh Mare, I teared up to read that you had heard a recorded message from your mom. I can just imagine how you felt. How wonderful that you have that recording.

I did sit in the sun for you today and looked up to feel those wonderful rays. I wish I could send you some!

    Hugs, Beth

  3. Thanks for soaking up some sun for me Beth! Did we enjoy it?? I'm sure I did for certain!
What do you watch on Sunday night? There's just not a lot that I do watch I guess...we have a VERY limited lineup on our cable...have thought about just using netflix...not sure.
What about you Katie, what do you watch? I need some ideas! Also, I left a "rambling" comment in the previous (area 51) post.
    Have a good night everyone..

  5. Hi everyone!

Beth, I have the most wonderful mental pic of you sitting outside and looking up to soak up some sun on your face! I can't WAIT to be able to do that! It's 63 here today but very, very windy. The cats went to the open, screened bay window but the wind scared them. Pussies! LOL

Mare, I guess you were bound to come upon your mom's phone message and break down eventually. I'm so sorry it hit so hard. I save all of my mom's phone messages for the max time my system will allow, 30 days...just in case. She needs to be on your prayer and positive thought list, please. She's going in for surgery to have an abdominal aneurysm removed and it's a very dangerous condition and dangerous surgery. Plus the doc keeps jacking her around about a surgery date. She's scared to death! That's why I may be making a quick trip home on short notice. I want to go take care of her after surgery. She'll be 80 this month. Was still very active and spunky until this last year. She has failed a lot in that time. She's such a good-hearted person.

My brother finished his 33 radiation treatments and is now just healing. He's down to 120 pounds and he's 6'1". He can't drive or anything, but his spirits are pretty good and the worst is over. He hasn't found out yet if the cancer is all gone. Soon.

Annie, I see your blog has been keeping you busy. It's very interesting! Thanks!

Finally really going to the Amish meat market today. Yum! Their meat is so wonderful!

Better run. Mare, feel better. Everyone, have a good weekend.

  7. Hi all, need to get busy...I fell asleep this a.m. and took a two hour nap...think yesterday just zapped me for some reason! Hope today is better. It is Youngest Son's 27th birthday so will make some homemade pizza and probably just pick up a cake and ice cream (lets hear it for cholesterol meds!! woot woot!!)
I will be happy to put your mom on our prayer list Katie...Please give me her name if you'd like..also enjoy the market ..wish we even had a grocery store in town let alone a market! sounds wonderful (beth, you will have to go to the farmers market for me one of these days after you take a ride in your little convertible!)
Annie, are you exhausted from saving the world?
    Waving at Granny...mwah!
    Have a good day everyone...

  8. Hello Everyone!
Katie-I am glad I made a nice mental picture for you. Let's pretend my hair was nicely combed and I didn't have ugly sweats on! LOL
I will be praying for your mom and for you.I am sure she will need you to be there for her. Also prayers go out for your brother, what an ongoing ordeal for him.

Mare-I didn't get your email. My address did change, I thought I had sent it to you but who knows, my memory comes and goes! I sent you a message this morning. I also watch The Amazing Race. I love the competition. What channel is Ruby on? Well I keep putting off getting my papers ready for getting my taxes done so I had better go do it...ugh... It really doesn't take long because everything is organized (the bookkeeper in me!) but I just don't like taking the time to put everything together. Ok now that I have typed it, I have to go do it!
I may go put my face in the sun for a few minutes first!!!
    Hugs, Beth

  9. Hi Everyone... thanks Kathy for the nice comment, I enjoy doing the blog. My writing instructor years back said we should write something everyday, I have found the blog to be a good vehicle for that.

Oh, Mare, even the busiest days at Wings of Hope are a delight, there is a special aura there. Yesterday there was a thick stack of letters to do, which is always good. And a trip to the post office to get a letter off to the Sudan to request permission to get a little girl brought here for medical treatment. I hope it works out for her.

I wish I could finish up my tax return, still waiting for information to come in.

    Peace everyone...........

  10. Beth, in my mental pictures everyone is always beautiful! ;)

Mare, I'm so sorry yesterday was a rough day for you. I guess you'll be having some of those for a bit. Just tell us when you do and talk it out any time you want.

My mom's name is Leitha. I have always called her Leitha Bean. LOL

Annie, neat! I hope the little girl gets to come here, as well.

  12. Thanks Katie! I'm sure there will be some rough days...I really had to be the stoic one and now once in a while it is "folding" on me but it will be ok. Mom and I had spent SO much time visiting and talking and just enjoying each other that I have a lot of wonderful conversations and memories to think about.
I LOVE your mom's name! How do you pronounce it? LEE-tha? I pray she will do well and that they can move her surgery along quickly. Also hope your brother is finding peace.
Beth, thanks for soaking up the sun for me...sure can't do that here!
Annie, will be praying the little girl can be allowed to come and get the help she needs.
Hi TG...thinking about your little friend.
Ok everyone...just got back from supper out for son's birthday (I made homemade pizza at my daughters house-6 pizzas and frosted a couple cakes! He brought some friends with..) was a nice time.
Have a good eve and rest everyone..
