The Swing
by Robert Louis Stevenson
How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!
Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside--
Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown--
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!
Well, it is VERY quiet in here today! Have we all been out enjoying springtime? That is one super good thing about living where it can be SO wintery for so long...you absolutely can't beat the feeling when spring comes around.
ReplyDeleteI hung out clothes today and hung clothes out on the line...ah..fresh linens!
I hope you have all had a great day and wonderful evening...have a restful night.
mare
What a pretty background Mare. Fresh linens, I can just smell them now...ahhhh...
ReplyDeleteI just found out that my house deal fell thru. Maybe I can go into more details later and maybe it is boring...I don't know. It was very disappointing. The people that are looking in my area don't value a contract at all. They sign it and don't think twice about breaking it because they know no one wants to go to court and spend the money to fight...oh well,..who wants to deal with people like that! I better go to bed, I am tired and a little sad but tomorrow will be a better day, I just know it. My entire family is having a huge yardsale at my brothers so at least I will get rid of some stuff!
Hugs to all, Beth

ReplyDeleteI'M SO SORRY BUT THERE MUST BE A REASON. LIKE YOU SAID WHO WANTS TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE LIKE THAT! ALSO IF YOU GET ALONG WITH YOUR NEIGHBORS IT'LL BE BETTER FOR THEM IF THEY WEREN'T THE RIGHT PEOPLE. SOMEONE WILL COME ALONG AND IT'LL BE RIGHT. MY OTHER HOUSE HASN'T SOLD YET EITHER. I PUT IT IN A PRAYER AND I KNOW IT'LL SELL IN GODS TIMING. I OWNED A HOUSE ON A GULF COURSE A FEW YEARS BACK AND IT DIDN'T SELL FOR SEVEN YEARS. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND LOOKED AS GOOD AS THE DAY WE MOVED INTO IT. THERE WAS A REASON. WE WERE MAKING TRIPS FROM FLORIDA TO N.Y.ALL THOSE SEVEN YEARS,LOOKING AFTER MY FAVORITE AUNT AND UNCLE. AT THE END OF THE SEVEN YEARS UNK DIED AND TWO WEEKS LATER THE HOUSE SOLD. GODS' TIMING NOT MINE. I HAVEN'T FIGURE OUT THE REASON FOR THE OTHER HOUSE HERE IN FLORIDA.MAYBE GOD'S SAVING IT FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL. YES, IT'S COSTING US BUT I CAN'T SIT AND WORRY ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW. SO HANG IN THERE. IT MAY NOT BE THE RIGHT TIMING. HUGS, GRANNY
ReplyDeleteKATIE, ARE YOU UP YET? HUGS TO YOU AND MARE ALSO.
ANNIE IS BUSY WRITING HER BOOKS AND SAVING THE WORLD. RIGHT ANNIE?
MARE, I LOVE A SWEET POEM LIKE THE ONE ABOVE. SOMETHING I CAN UNDERSTAND. I'VE TRIED TO WRITE POEMS BUT IT'S JUST NOT MY THING. I'D RATHER READ A SWEET STORY OR A CHILDS RHYME.THERE SIMPLE AND TO THE POINT. I DIDN'T LIKE SHAKESPEARE EITHER SHAME ON ME. IT REALLY FUNNY BECAUSE I LOVE THE ARTS. WHATEVER.LOL
HAVE A LOVELY DAY.
GRANNY
Beth, I'm SO sorry! In our case the first two contracts fell through. The first buyers just got cold feet, AFTER we fixed a ton of stuff they asked us to fix ($$$$). We thought "OK. At least more stuff is done so the house is more attractive now" and moved on. The second buyer lost his job 2 days before closing, so he no longer qualified for a mortgage. Legal fees again and we had fixed even MORE stuff. The third buyer went thru without a hitch and we sang and danced in the streets! Good chance your next buyer will be the done deal one!!! I sure hope so! Big hugs to you. And to Mr.NYC!
ReplyDeleteGRANNY, I GOT UP TODAY AT 11:30. EARLY FOR ME. LOL I JUST TRY TO GET 7 OR 8 HOURS' SLEEP. GOOD LUCK ON SELLING YOUR OLD HOUSE. WE WERE ALSO MAKING TWO MORTGAGE PAYMENTS FOR THE 2 YEARS OUR OLD HOUSE DIDN'T SELL AFTER WE MOVED INTO THIS HOUSE. FORTUNATELY I HAD JUST INHERITED QUITE A BIT OF MONEY. WON'T DO THAT AGAIN THOUGH! YOU'RE RIGHT, OF COURSE. YOUR OLD HOUSE WILL SELL WHEN IT'S SUPPOSED TO.
Mare, love the cloud background and swing pic and poem. You are very gifted with your blog! I check here a couple of times a day but don't always have something to say, believe it or not. LOL So glad you got a spring day to hang clothes out. Pretty and sunny here today but it's going to freeze again tonight. And my baby lilac bushes are all in full bud!
Have a great weekend everyone! I'm off to watch Kevin fix the top story gutters. I'm so afraid he'll fall.
Going out tonight to hear a friend's band and have a bite to eat. Not really in the mood for that today but Kev will be all gung ho so I'll go for a few hours. Being designated driver, I can only stand it for so long while he's drinking. After 2 or max 3 hours I've had enough and I'm ready to go home! Of course the band plays until 1:00 a.m. and Kev always wants to stay. I usually win, though. Muhahahaha

mare
Thanks Mare and Granny! :)
ReplyDeleteI need to add something to my post of earlier today. It occured to me later that it might scare Beth that I told her it took 2 years to sell our old house. The reason it took 2 years is that the floors in the main room sloped! Sorry if I scared you, Beth!
Did you guys see the Supermoon tonight? It was incredible!
Katie
NOT UNTIL 7
ReplyDeleteNOT UNTIL AROUND 7:30 BUT IT WAS STILL BRIGHT AND PRETTY.
GRANNY
;3
A quick "hi"...has been a busy "on the phone" morning.
ReplyDeleteBeth..am so sorry about the house, but TG is an awesome example of how things work out as they should (thanks for sharing that TG!!)
Katie, how was the band?? Hope you remembered to slip some pants on before you headed out the door (tee hee!)
I see on Casey's blog that his outdoor plants are coming along quicker, but I am enjoying what seems to be spring (at least for the moment! I'll take what I can get!)
I hope Annie is doing well...A reminder that links to blogs and the times they have updated are on the right upper side of the blog and just click and it will take you to them. If any of you have a blog you are particularly enjoying, please feel free to let me know and we can add a link to it..
Have a great day everyone!!
