In The Pink

Happy weekend everyone! Was sunny but cold here today. Hubs is off from work so we went a couple towns over to the grocery store and got gas in the car. A nice little ride. On the way back through on of the towns I spotted this PINK house and just had to take a picture...I like someone who has a bold idea and makes it happen! What color is YOUR house?? Please do tell...My house is a beige color (stucco) with a red door (courtesy of Miss Megan!...she grabbed the paint and went to town on it right as we moved in!)
Hope you are all feeling well and enjoying your weekend.

  3. My house is yellow with a pink front door and white trim. My house needs a new paint job, too. I think I'll keep the same colors, but will consider other colors first.

I saw the last of the Best Picture nominees today, War Horse. Really good. My favorites are The Artist and Hugo, but I enjoyed all of them, except Tree of Life. A very good year for film, and I am looking forward to The Oscars tomorrow night!!

  4. Well, I.m not sure what color our house is. Kevin swears it's beige with black shutters and a red door and I think it looks yellow with all else in agreement. It's tin siding I think and probably needs to be replaced or painted. I worry aobut teh resale value of our house all time because we have to sell in it 4 years before I turn 65 and downsize.

I've been sicker than a dog all yesterday and tonight. I didn't go to bed though because I coughed constantly in bed and stopped when I got up. I'm giong to take 2 pillows to the couch here shortly and see if I can sleep propper up with no coughing. Wish me luck. This is bad this time.

  5. Beautiful Sunday a.m. everyone. It is so sunny and bright out...pretty chilly here though.
Katie, hoping you go see the dr soon if this doesn't subside...bronchitis possibly?? ugh! feel better soon!
Hope everyone is having a good day...going for a drive. Hubs needs a new phone BADLY so that is the mission today. Wish us luck...a phone that works and that HE can work LOL...he would say the same thing so it's ok! Oh, and he needs to be able to see it too!
Shoot, the wind has just started up pretty strong, but it is still so pretty and sunny...Put the flower I got at mom's funeral in the window to "sun" as it was starting to get spindly from looking for light...it is that time of year...
    Have a great day everyone..

  6. Have a great Sunday everyone! Not sure what I will do today. Looking forward to the Oscars tonight. I know there will be pre-Oscars stuff on earlier, so I'll probably catch some of that.

  7. HI GALS AND GUYS,
JUST HAD TO SHARE THIS SWEET STORY. IT MAKE YOU BELIEVE WE'RE WHERE WE ARE FOR A REASON EVEN FOR LITTLE BIRDS THAT NEED OUR HELP.
NATURE LOVER ME.LOVE A GOOD TRUE STORY.

Logan Helps A Bird...A True Story
. It's about A LADY and her son Logan rescuing a Brown-headed Nuthatch last week and had to share it!

It was such a beautiful day today, so I decided to see if Logan would like to take a trip over to the pond at our nearby Park.Surprisingly, he said yes (you mean we do not have to go home and play underwater explorers or space invaders!)- So to the park we went and after walking around for an hour, we decided it was time to head home.On the way back up to the car I noticed Logan kneeling down to the ground saying, "Mommy, it's a bird. He doesn't look too good- maybe we should help save his life..." And I am thinking to myself, oh boy look at what I have done- how do I tell my son that sometimes you just have to let life take it's course. Then I hear "Mommy, look at that big bump on his neck!" I responded "Yes, that is called a Nuthatch. He might be sick, so we should just leave him alone and head home.Let's go..."

    LOGAN SPOTTING A BIRD

Logan was relentless that we help the bird saying, "No,Mommy! Look at his neck...We have to be helpful humans and help this poor bird." Bending down, I see that indeed the bird had quite a bump on his neck- for us it would be about the size of an orange or grapefruit. Gently I picked the little bird up and turned him over seeing that the bump was actually a nice size tick. I was thinking to myself, even if this bird sits still what are the chances of me being able to remove the head of this tick?? Well, I decided to try anyway (had to do something, as we are helpful humans, right?)

    NUTHATCH WITH TICK

The bird did not even move and did not make a sound. It was almost as if he knew that we were trying to help him and we manage to remove the tick along with the head. Just shortly after that the bird flew up to an area with pine straw grabbed an insect and flew away. Just had to share THIS STORY HAD PICTURE ALSO.

THE BIRDS WERE HERE IN MY YARD FOR A DAY THEN LEFT AGAIN. IT SEEMS LIKE THE SAME BIRDS THAT LIVE HERE SPRING AND SUMMER. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN OUR NECK OF THE WOODS SO FAR.

  9. Happy Birthday Katie!

Hello everyone. It has been an eventful week. I will throw my 'sickness' in with the group. Got sick in NYC, had to stay a few days extra because I couldn't get on the plane. Thought it was one thing now think it is something else. Has been very upsetting. Going to a dr. today and maybe a different one tomorrow.

    hugs, Beth
