Determination = Payoff

It still seems unbelievable, but at least now I am finally recognize him if we are out somewhere and he walks towards me..

When we were visiting Megan son had gone along and during that time we stopped in at a thrift store..because, well..cuz that's how we roll.
Looking through the racks of clothing, son and I both stopped and stared..we could have sworn that the shirt he had given to the thrift store was hanging in front of us...pulling it out and holding it up was unbelievable.
The shirt we were holding was a 5x and the young man in front of me a size medium. We HAD to take a picture, but to get a good shot of it, we actually needed to have his dad help hold the shirt up.
We figure he has lost at least 200 pounds and made a radical (and I do mean RADICAL lifestyle change.) He eats mountains of vegetables and limits fruits and purchases grass fed meat and butter, etc.
He has a bike that is not only his transportation, but recreation and he has let go of a lot of his electronic "things" (but reads voraciously and I managed to get him to use my Kindle to allow him to take a library with him wherever he goes.
Needless to say we are beyond proud of him and even i can't believe what I see when I look at him now..it falls under the heading of "amazing and unbelievable".
I need to find a "before" picture, but I don't think I really want to...I know it was a difficult time for him so I just focus on who he is...but this was just too good to share...
Be encouraged...no matter what you face...there is hope with determination..

The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will.

  5. Two hundred pounds is a couple of people! Your son lost a couple of people in size! Really really fabulous! Huge kudos to him. And more kudos for sticking with healthy eating now. He is an amazing person! That's a LOT of work. I need to jump on that bandwagon. I need to lose another 100 pounds or so. Lost 70 and that feels great but the temptation to quit now is big. You son is an inspiration to me. And to the world!
