Years ago when my 3 children were all small, mom gave me these little figurines to represent them...they are a little worse for the wear, but I love them all the more because of the years on them, the places they have moved with me...the memory of my little ones and of my mom giving them to me.
The dishes you see sitting behind my little people belonged to my grandma. She received them as a gift from her teacher when she was a little girl. Grandma treasured them and I am so lucky to have them (they are over 100 years old). I remember her having them in her cupboard and she did use them, but because I treasure them so much I can't imagine using them-they are irreplaceable.
My treasures, no monetary value, but a value to me that no amount of money could buy.

ReplyDeleteOh, I love them also! I know what you mean... As I unpack my things, I am reminded of little things with so many of them. Things that were my dad's and my grandmas', all so precious to me. That is why I have so much stuff!...yes, that is my story and I am sticking to it! :-)

So many neat things! I have a music box gave me after gma died. It plays amazing grace! beautiful little thing. I also have a couple forks (yes, forks)! One carried through the civil War & another to break sod. A very old watch that belonged to a great, great aunt (my namesake). I guess we all have beautiful things that mean a lot to us! I always wondered what happened to my little rubber ball, with a face on it, & my cinderella watch! Guess I will never know.
ReplyDeleteNot to many weeks until school is out. I will be free to do more of the things I want to do. Oh, yes, little sis, we WILL have a garage sale, after June 9! I have so much to go through. I think I may need my own personal organizer to get it under control!
April is so busy. Confirmation is over, Just have a birthday, 2 wedding showers, & Easter for sure. Probably more, but to tired to think about it.
I hope you are all well! Not many sick kids, so, the rest of us are pretty healthy.
Little sis, I am waiting for you to help me choose a tablet , now that I have come up with the pass word I needed. That may need to wait awhile too.
We all have to much stuff Beth! I do think it helps to move once in awhile, things get sorted ( which I dont like to do, but little sis seems to LOVE to do)!
