REMEMBERING...

Swaburg Country Church...where Hubby's grandparents are buried

Mike's grandpa and grandma and his uncle who was stillborn

Together in death as in life

Someone's loved one

Gone for so very many years, but not forgotten

Maybe a beloved teacher? I found this so sweet

Memorial Day, Decoration Day...Remembering Day...
A day that originated to remember fallen soldiers in service to our country.
Now, it is still that, but has evolved as a time to remember all those who have gone before us...loved ones..our dads, moms, brothers, sisters, family, friends..
Hoping today that you are remembering your loved ones with a warmth and heart ful of wonderful memories and love.

  1. So beautiful Mare, thank you. The last picture, a special meaning to someone...
Remembering both of my dear sweet Grandmas, both of my grandfathers who I unfortunately never knew and my father who I adored and miss everyday.

  2. What a beautiful setting. I would love to wander around the grounds. I think you should print and frame that photo of the church, Mare. I also think it would make a nice subject for a painting...if I painted.

  3. I LOVE THE OLD CHURCHPICTURE. THE NEW ONES DON'T HAVE THE CLASS LIKE THE OLD ONES. THAT PICTURE OF THE CHURCH REMINDS ME OF MY CHURCH IN N.Y. I'VE GOT 74 AND A HALF YEARS INVESTED IN THE CHURCH. LIKE LOV I AGREE I'D FRAME IT AND MAYBE FIND SOMEONE TO PAINT IT FOR YOU. ALSO I TOO WOULD LOVE TO WANDER AROUND WITH LOV. SO MUCH HISTORY.

  4. What a serene setting. Just beautiful. You sure don't find places like that around the big cities.

Mom took a big basket of flowers to dad's grave on Sunday and the cemetary staff suggested she take them home because they would be stolen if she left them there. She was so sad.

Bless all of those who have gone before us...
