Claudia, we moved from one end of Nebraska to the other about a year and a half ago and decided we needed to simplify and be frugal, etc. and did not hook up cable (or dish or any sort of tv) We did splurge on Netflix though. Well, I do love tv and this is really our one "splurge"...think it probably was good for us...but I like this better! LOL

Last night I watched Chicago Fire (a new show on NBC) about firefighters, etc., I really enjoyed the show. I love THE VOICE and enjoy it very much. I have not watch the XFACTOR this year. Guess Simon Cowell is not my cup of tea.
Today was beautiful here. I was outside most of the morning and afternoon. I love my scooter. The hurricane Sandy is coming up the eastern coast later this weekend and meeting a cold front and they are talking major problems for NYC and NJ with high winds and heavy rain. In our area, it most likely will turn to snow from what they are saying. Governor Cuomo sent out a notice to make people aware of this storm.
Granny...my oldest brother and his wife are on their way to Florida, they left from Saratoga today. They have a home in Bonita Springs. Their son lives in Naples. They have officially put their lake front home in Saratoga up for sale. They love Florida!!

THE DOCTOR WASN'T IN A GOOD MOOD BECAUSE THE INSURANCE COMPANY I HAVE MAKES HIM SPEND TO MUCH TIME FILLING OUT FORMS FOR THE TIME I SPEND THERE SO IT TOOK AWAY FROM MY APPOINTMENT TIME. HE'S THINKING ABOUT DROPPING THIS COMPANY. OH WELL, SO WHAT'S NEW. DEPENDING ON WHO WINS THE ELECTION WE'LL BE LUCKY TO EVEN BE ABLE TO GO TO THE DOCTORS.WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS. I BURNED MYSELF WITH GREASE FROM THE FRYPAN. AND EVEN WITH THE BANDAGE I HAD ON HE DIDN'T ASK AND I FORGOT TO ASK HIM WHAT TO DO FOR IT. THE BURNS DON'T LOOK GOOD BUT THEIR NOT HURTING AS BAD AS THEY DID. I REALL NEED TO SAY GOODNIGHT. MY EYES ARE BURNING REALLY BAD. LOU
oh Lou! I hope you heal quickly! Burns are SO awful!!! Isn't insurance something else? But one needs it if at all possible!!! hope your eyes are better today! mare
Lou, Glad to read that you saw your doctor and received good news on your blood pressure. I know what you mean about seeing the doctors and not getting quality time with them. That is how I feel with my lung doctor and his physician assistant, I do not feel I get the same kind of attention that I receive from my personal physician. Dr. Fairbanks rocks!! A true testament was how long it took for me to get the scooter. I Love it!! Today is very nice outside and I was out all morning and just came inside (2:15PM). I hope your burns do not get infected. You can buy over the counter First Degree Therapeutic Burn Cream at any drug store. I had to get a prescription when I burned my butt after I got out of the hospital. My back was bothering me and I had a old heating pad, fell asleep and got a second degree burn on my butt. My doctor just shook her head at me and told me to get a new heating pad that shuts off by itself. It took a long time for it to heal as well.
