Squirrels?

Not sure what in the world Ole is checking for, but he hunts the yard and the porch and gets his hackles raised...busy guy...
Boy, does the yard and house ever look in need of some tlc-it 'tis that time of year though where things look abused after the HOT and now the COLD.  And in the spirit of "keepin' it real", you get to see the cracks and chips that need fixed!  As my youngest son says for EVERYTHING, it's "patina" LOL (and he says it whether it fits or not! anything that has some wear and tear on it has patina)
Time for some warm apple crisp and ice cream-want some??
Hope your fall day is going good...

  1. IT'S GOT TO BE SQURRELS. JOEY DOES THE SAME THING. I'D LOVE TO LET HIM HAVE THE YARD TO RUN IN BUT WE HAVE SO MANY LARGE ANT HILLS[THE KIND THAT BITE] THAT I'M AFRAID TO LET HIM ROAM.WE PUT ANT STUFF DOWN TO GET OF RID THEM THEN THEY POP UP IN ANOTHER SPOT. THE YARD IS FENCED ON THREE SIDES BY NEIGHBORS. THE FENCE THAT GOES ACROSS THE BACK BELONGS TO THE HOMEOWERS ASS.. WE STILL NEED TO CLOSE OFF BOTH SIDES OF THE HOUSE TO THE NEIGHBORS FENCING.SOMEDAY. OUR YARD DIDN'T HAVE THE USUAL ACTIVITY TODAY. SOME MEN KNOCK ON THE DOOR THIS MORNING AND WANTED TO KNOW IF WE NEEDED ANY TREES TRIM SO GRAMP HAD THEM TRIM MY OAK TREE IN THE BACK YARD. ONLY ON OUR SIDE OF THE FENCE. THE BIRDS SEEM A LITTLE CONFUSED WITH THEIR TREE. POOR BABIES. BUT THE TREE NEEDED THAT TRIM. THE LIMBS WERE TOUCHING THE HOUSE. THE POOR SQUIRREL LOOK LIKE THEY WERE LOST BECAUSE THEIR TREE LIMBS THEY WOULD JUMP ON WERE GONE. BUT THEY CAN STILL REACH THE TREE PLUS, THEY LOVE RUNNING ON TOP OF THE FENCE GOING FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE.THE BIRDBATH GOT A LITTLE ACTION JUST BEFOR DARK SO TOMORROW MAYBE A BETTER DAY FOR ALL.

I GET SUCH A KICK OUT OF OUR DOGS MARE. THEY REALLY RUN OUR LIVES, DON'T THEY. SWEET BABIES.

X FACTOR IS ON. I WISH I HAD A BIG BOWL OF ICE CREAM WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS TO EAT WHILE WATCHING THE SHOW. SO I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO SETTLE FOR CELERY.LOL

BETH, HAVE A SAFE TRIP. I'LL SEND UP A FLARE WHEN YOU FLY IN.

GOOD NIGHT, DON'T LET THE BEDBUGS BITE.

  3. Good evening ladies...I SEE YOU! Hope you have a nice evening...we need to trim our "mystery" tree but need to wait until spring now. Then it will get another GOOD trimming! We did quite a bit this last spring but needs more-need a chainsaw for that little venture-just used our trimmer for what we did...
Stay warm (or cool) and have a great eve...

  4. Hi Lou....I just got on the computer. I helped my daughter today in the house that she sold. I am good at things if I can sit and do. I wiped down the hardwood floor stair case in her house. Just waiting on the closing. Everything is out of the house now. My son Matthew took a day off from work to help her out. We had a bank robbery today in Cicero. A new bank that is near the High School. Cicero finest was the first to respond then the sheriff's dept took over. The picture of the person that robbed the back is so young (early 20's). He will be caught and has ruined his life with something like that. Hope you are feeling better Lou.

I have not gotten my scooter yet. I am going to call tomorrow. I was so caught up with helping my daughter I forgot to call.

We have squirrels running all over the place gathering their winter food. I wish I had their energy.

Today I was sitting on the floor in my grandson's Aaron room, going through stuff of what to keep and what to toss out. I found his Mickey Mouse Wizard Hat with Mickey Ears in his closet. So I put it on. Jennifer is in a relationship with a very nice man (who is Irish) and he took a picture on his cell phone. I told Jon that picture best not show up anyplace. LIKE FACEBOOK.....he laughted!! Do you think I should worry???

Thanks for reminding me that Xfactor was on!! I am so into The VOICE. Love Adam Levine...

    Take Care...

  5. Here and in Tacoma when a dog sniffs like that, there's usually been a cat, a raccoon or squirrels romping there. Ole is so darned cute! He is sure looking hard, isn't he?! How old is Ole?

I am totally smitten with Jeanne's cat! Yum Yum follows me around half the time and he talks ALL the time! When the other cats hiss at him, he stops, looks at them like "What's your problem?" and then goes about his merry way. He refuses to fight with them. It's great! He curls up and sleeps between me and the keyboard when I am at the computer. It's so sweet!

My brother had a really good day today. Tomorrow he wants to go for a ride somewhere. We'll see tomorrow if he's strong enough to get to the car.

I might have to go home next week when my sister leaves. Frankly, I don't want to. But it's necessary.

    1. katie, I almost missed your post! I'm sorry! I saw it on my phone and obviously didn't see the whole thing!
Am glad your bro had a good day. Hoping for more like that for him.
Please let us know if you take off for home. I know it's probably something you are NOT looking forward to at ALL! and believe me, i get it.. I HATE when I have to "suck it up" and do what I don't want to (yes, you heard right, me whining.."I DON"T WANNA!!!!!")
Oh, Ole will be 10 years old next month. He is a well preserved little guy if I do say so myself (as he lays next to me "smacking his little wiener dog lips over his gums because his front teeth are missing :)
Hope you enjoyed the concert last night! You're a good wife!

  8. Just stopped by to say that when I woke this morning it was 29 degrees in Cicero, New York. Yes, there was frost on the pumpkins and it was cold. I think we are suppose to get up into the 50 degress mark this afternoon and tomorrow it is suppose to be 68 degrees. Nothing like playing with my sinus problems. Up and down we go.....

Hope all is well with everyone. As I sit by the fireplace, now it is getting too warm in here, I best try to do somethings around the house.

    Take care...

Won't be long before the snow flies I'm afraid!
