A SMALL TREE IS JUST PERFECT FOR US GRANNIES. I MUST GET MY LITTLE ONE OUT. BETWEEN, MY GRAND DAUGHTER HAVING TO BE RUSH TO THE HOSPITAL THIS PAST WEEK AND MY DEAR 89 YEAR OLD FRIEND BEING TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL A COUPLE DAYS AGO, GRAMPS AND I ARE BEING KEPT BUSY.MY FRIEND DOSEN'T HAVE FAMILY EXCEPT A NEICE AND NEPHEW THAT REALLY DON'T CARE OR THEY'D BE HERE FOR HER.SHE NEEDS HELP BADLY. AFTER TESTS THEY FOUND HER HIP WAS BROKEN. POOR SOUL. THEY WON'T OPERATE ON HER BECAUSE OF HER HEART AND AGE SO WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS NOW.THEIR TALKING ABOUT SENDING HER TO A REHAB CENTER. I CAN'T SEE WHERE REHAB WILL FIX ANYTHING. I DO KNOW SHE SHOULDN'T BE LEFT ALONE. THANK GOD I DON'T HAVE TO SHOP FOR CHRISTMAS. I JUST GIVE OUT MONEY AS MOST GRANNIES DO. IT MAKES IT SO MUCH EASIER. SO WHILE YOUR ALL OUT THERE ENJOYING THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE THINK OF ME SITTING IN THE SUNSHINE DRINKING A TALL ONE. J/K. I USED TO ENJOY IT BUT SO GLAD THOSE DAYS ARE OVER. GO MAKE IT A GOOD DAY FOR ANYONE THAT NEEDS HELP. LOU
Yes, small trees for us! I might go a TAD bigger next year...or NOT! :) I don't mind. Love it cuz my mom had loved it! Hope all are well in your life and things going smoothly. Please soak up some warmth for me!
The tree is lovely Mare. Size doesn't matter! Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas season!
Things are busy over here. Seems like I have a whole list of different to-do's every day,...how can that happen?!
I got a flu shot yesterday. I always debate it but with the 'gentle' nudging of my mom (a retired nurse, once a nurse always a nurse!). I just did it. Nothing like being sick over the holidays. I set up a wrapping station in the garage so everyone can just wrap when they need to and not drag out the stuff and try to cram it back (my kids, not my sis and I!) My son gets home from college tonight. Love having him around but he does put a different element in this usual all girl household. Mr.NYC gets here the Sat. before Christmas so then we will have 2 boys to deal with!
Thanks Beth! I can only imagine yours is beautiful in your new home! It will be quite a change when you have your "Christmas visitors"! We also are on the fence re: flu shots. Because of Megan we have gotten them so we feel it might protect HER from US! :) Hope you are having a blessed Christmas season so far!
Well, Saturday was both my hubs' 50th birthday and my brother's funeral. Talk about mixed emotions! There was an overriding sadness for me but I had planned big things for Kevin's birthday. We really celebrated in different ways all day and evening. He had a glorious birthday. So happy happy birthday to Kevin and rest in peace my dear brother... And I loved the outcome of the Amazing Race Sunday night!
thought of you all weekend Kattiebug! YEAH for Kev! and a big happy birthday to him. How is your mom doing? I imagine it has to be a feeling of relief mixed with grief. Bless her heart. I know you are at terms with it, but it is still not easy. Hugs to you.. M
Mare... Your little tree is beautiful. I have my Mom's little tree that we use to put up in her bedroom. For the last 15 years, I display it here in my house.
Thanks for sharing your "meaningful & loving" tree. It is beautiful!
