I LOVE our fireflies! We didn't have any when I was growing up on the west coast, so now I love them even more! Nice vid, Mare! Does Ole have any interest in trying to catch them?
WE ALWAY WENT OUTSIDE AT NIGHT AS KIDS TO CATCH FIREFLIES. THEN WE'D PUT THEM IN BOTTLES . WE ALWAY LET THEM GO AFTER WATCHING THEM FOR THE NIGHT. IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS IN LIFE THAT MADE US HAPPY AS CHILDREN. HOW WAS THE ICE CREAM? THERE YOU GO AGAIN. I WANTED SOME LAST NIGHT ALSO. [TWINS WE ARE].
I have never seen fireflies. It sounds like a lovely part of your summer, though. So does going for some ice cream. Now, that's something I am familiar with!
When I was younger, we would go out and catch fireflies. We would let them go after we watched them up closely lighting up in the jar. I have not seen fireflies in years. With all the big housing developments, that part of nature went by the wayside and they are just a memory now.
Last night I had a big bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Not on my diabetic list of things to have. Once in a while you just have to do what you want to do. It was yummy...
Feeling good, went to my doctors appt today and I need to see a specialist for my blood is still messed up. Most likely due to the prednisone so precautionary off I go to another doctor.
MARE,DO YOU GET A VACATION THIS SUMMER? IF SO, WHERE ARE YOU GOING? GRAMPS AND I MISS OUR YEARLY TRIPS UP NORTH. WE WERE SO CLOSE TO BUYING ANOTHER MOTORHOME BEFORE WE BOUGHT THIS HOUSE. SO GLAD WE DIDN'T. THE GAS WOULD'VE BROKE US. THOSE WERE THE DAYS. FULL OF FUN. THE ONLY PLACE WE DIDN'T GET TO SEE IS YOUR AREA OF THE COUNTRY.SO KEEP THOSE VIDEOS COMING WHEN YOUR OUT ON THE ROAD.IT'S SO PRETTY THERE. HUGS
TWO BEAUTIFUL CARDINALS [MR.AND MRS.] ARE AT THE BIRDFEEDER RIGHT NOW. I'VE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THEIR BABIES COME TO THE BIRDBATH AND FEEDER EVERYDAY ALSO. WHY? BECAUSE THE MALE CARDINAL THAT CAME YESTERDAY WAS HUGH. OF COURSE THEY GET FED WELL HERE. GRAMPS CAME HOME WITH A BIGGER FEEDER YESTERDAY. IT GOES UP TODAY. I WISH SOME MORE WOULD COME IN TO EAT. IT'S ALWAY THE SAME BIRDS.
GLORIA, JUST KNOW THAT WE'RE PRAYING FOR YOU. I DO THIS THING CALLED THOUGHT PRAYERS. WHEN I THINK OF A FRIEND I JUST STOP FOR A SECOND AND LIFT THEM UP. I HAVE SO MANY FRIENDS SO IT KEEPS ME BUSY. TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT. GO MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY TODAY. GOOD LUCK ON THE NEW DOCTOR.
