There is nothing like that first tomato--And I really think that it's difficult to think anything but pleasant thoughts when eating a homegrown tomato--I have a feeling you are like me in that you savored each bite!!!! :-)
I don't think anyone around here has much for tomatoes yet...but I guess i try cuz hope springs eternal and I keep hoping to get those HUGE ones like my dad used to raise :)
FYI-went to Steve Martin in concert last night at the Hollywood Bowl. Loved it! I wouldn't consider myself a bluegrass fan but his band is great and with his comedy between songs, it was a fantastic night. If he is in your area, I would highly recommend it. A night of great musicians.
People come to Omaha sometimes, or Sioux City (Iowa) but not too many acts come to my town (not quite 900 people anymore-just sayin')...sounds like great fun though! Wish I had that option...maybe when I come to visit you we can go I still am hoping that SOMEDAY we will have a great visit in person and I will get to go down the Pacific Coast HWY with you! and of course go to see Ross -maybe you can call him up and we can "double date" with him and Sal LOL..a girl can dream!
Very pretty tomato! My tomato yield hasn't been very impressive, either, Mare, but the few I have gotten taste good. Beth, I bet the concert was great. A lot of people don't know that Steve Martin is a very good musician. He also grew up in Garden Grove (a few miles away from me) and worked at Disneyland as a teen, doing magic tricks at the magic shop. I had a crush on him when I was 11, and he was about 14. Not that he was aware of me. That's the first time I saw him there, and I have followed his career with pride ever since. He's an OC boy! And Mare, I'm sure you have several places you can stay for free in CA, so book a flight and come for a visit. I'm always up for a drive along PCH!
Yes, Mare...I think the 3 of us can go for a nice long cruise up and down PCH!
Luv-My first concert as a teen was to see Steve Martin in concert when he was doing the "King Tut" routine and the arrow thru the head. Cracked me up then and still does. No matter how corny the line was, everyone was laughing. And you are right, he is a great musician. Seems like he can do it all. A little inside note, my cousin has been his personal chef for around 18 years and says he is a very nice man. What you see is what you get.
How fun would that be??? for me anyway for sure! A cruise, brunch with Ross and Sal and your cousin cookin' up something good for us for brunch (just thought I'd throw that one in! :) I'm holdin' out for that dream to happen!
Hi Ladies! I have the house to myself for 5 days because the hubster went camping in upstate NY. First time in 18 years I haven't gone! Some health problems kept me at home. I'm enjoying the solitude but not getting the projects done that I had planned. LOL
I love the California Coast Highway! Have been down it a couple of times! I truly hope you can go someday, Mare. And with Luvs and Beth, you'd have the time of your life!
LOOKS YUMMY
