  4. Granny, we used to call that Area 51. LOL I went back and read it. Your friend will be all right. She doesn't have a nice family, though. I've seen an awful lot of that sort of thing with families of the elderly since I got old enough to have friends and parents go to homes or pass away, unfortunately. Just believe in Karma and you can live with it! LOL

Beautiful day here in central Jersey! Have a great week everyone!

PS We tried to take Jeanne to dinner yesterday for Easter but when we got outside the nursing home to go to the car, she fell. So we spent the afternoon and evening with her in the Emergency Room. She broke her arm. She's mostly okay though.

  6. My mom said the same thing! She was in a horrible head-on car accident when she was 15 and she had a safety pin in her bra strap. She went through the windshield, face first and was in the hospital for a year. Yet all she was worried about was the rescue workers seeing a pin in her bra strap! Sheesh. So clean, unpinned bras and panties were and are the rule of order! LOL

Granny, I think all the falls are just a statistical probability with advancing age. It's what killed my mom at 82. Sad. Hope you get feeling better soon.

Hi Mare, Beth, Luvs and everyone else! Have a great day!

  7. Kathy, I am trying to be proactive regarding preventing falls by doing Tai Chi every day. It's one of the best things seniors can do for leg strength, flexibility and balance. Many senior centers and community recreation programs offer Tai Chi classes for little or no money. My weekly class is free, and for all age groups, and something I love and look forward to every Sunday morning.

  9. Good Morning everyone. I went to the lost and found and found myself. lol I have just had a whirl wind of excitement with me. As I asked Granny to share, I fell in my kitchen over the dish washer door and landed like a frog. Taking the prednisone it has caused my skin to thin and my arm just split open about 5 inches. Taking the blood thinner caused it to bleed beyond words and I called for help. My arm has mended and I have a lovely scar now going up my arm from the wrist. It looks funny for the skin mended but I have lots of freckles on my body and the scar area is without freckles so it really stands out. Better that it healed than having to have surgery.

Glad that I had time to read all the happenings in everyone's life on Mare's blog. Sorry about your friend Granny and sorry about your MIL Kathy...It never ends when we get older.

Last Thursday I went to my heart doctor and he is very happy with my results and I can not say enough about this man for he was the one that helped me the most. Getting the heart to pump right I am not having as much distress with my breathing. I had always said I felt the heart was the precursor for many of my ambulance trips to the hospital. Once they locked into the problem, things are so much better.

I live in an apartment of 15 tenants plus the garage is under the building. I felt this was a good move for me. This past Thursday I went ape poop when I opened my door to leave to go to the doctors. Someone in the building was smoking pot. I called the rental office, they sent someone over and found out the apartment the person was doing his thing. He was told this can not take place or the police will be called. I took it even future with the complex. I had them install door sweeps on the 15 apartments so something like that does not come out into the Atrium of the building. My doctor documented it on my records for I can not be subjected to that and he said if I needed to move due to this situation, he would write a letter. The person that was smoking the pot walks out of this building every day in scrubs. He works in the medical field. I told them if I smell it again, the police will be called.

    Take care,
    Gloria
