Today is Wednesday 9/24...Yesterday I wrote on my Facebook page that I felt perky and peppy and was going to work out at the pulmonary rehab program that I go to. I was on an elliptical type of equipment that you sit, but you move your arms back and forth and your feet are on wide metal pads. I stopped moving back and forth with my arms and when I did, my right foot slipped off the elliptical pad and both foot pads came around again and hit me in the chins. The right leg was cut about 4 inches in length right to the bone, the left leg was just an inch long cut. I take a blood thinner so my blood was just pumping out, I had a physician assistant and two nurses pressing down to get it to stop bleeding. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance and had to have 14 sutures to close the cut. My right leg is just throbbing beyond words and I can not take anything for pain (due to the other meds I take). Spent today putting ice packs on it and that helped a great deal and taking Xanax to keep me calm. I get the stitches out on October 3rd and October 7th I am moving into a new apartment. Not a good time to get hurt for so much more needs to be packed but I have 4 kids and grandsons are coming this weekend to help out. I am on antibiotics 500 mg of Augmentin 3x's a day to ward off infection due to being a diabetic.
It never ends with me but my lungs and heart stayed in check so that was a plus, plus when all this happened. Just have a very sore right leg. I have a cane from when I was so sick and weak last year that I am using to support myself so I do not put too much weight on the right leg and have it start bleeding again.
So to answer your question.............not very good Mare....
Hey Mare and Gloria Gloria, so sorry to hear about your accident. To say you didn't need that is a gross understatement. Hope you heal quickly! Mare- eh not so great. The husband is getting a double knee replacement next week. We're not really the best of friends so Im not looking forward to any of it including the three month recovery. If that makes me sound cold Im sorry cause im really not a cold person except when earned. I hope you are doing well. I keep up with reading your blog and its nice to see you posting more often :) SueZK
