While visiting YS we went to a small local coffee shop that is downtown where older stores and apartment houses are located and it is funky and just plain fabulous in so many ways.
A diverse group of locals hang out inside and out and blues plays on the record player, there is exposed brick and open duct work, baristas with snood style stocking caps and the best coffee and drinks. Moe saw a crepe being made AFTER we had our drinks and felt it was too late to order, but oh my...next time I think stopping back for a crepe or pancake or any number of fabulous things they offer might be in order...and we can't forget to bus our own table!!

So happy for you and Moe to have that great time together. What a cute couple YS and his gal are!

Sounds like a good time. I can't remember when I last had a crepe.
ReplyDeleteI'VE GOT A CREPE MACHINE. SOUNDS LIKE IT TIME TO GET IT OUT AND MAKE SOME WITH THE HELP FROM GRAMPS.GRAMPS LOVE THEM STUFFED WITH A COTTAGE CHEESE MIXTURE [SUGAR BEING A MAIN INGREDIENT MIXED WITH THE COTTAGECHEESE. ROLLED LINE UP IN A BAKING DISH COVERED WITH SOUR CREAM SPRINKLED WITH SUGAR AND CINNAMON . BAKED FOR 35 MINUTES UNTIL LIGHT BROWN ON TOP. OR STUFF WITH A PRUNE MIXTURE. THAT'S REALLY GOOD ALSO. IT'S AN OLD COUNTRY RECIPE OF HIS MOM'S. HANDSOME COUPLE. SO GLAD YOU HAD A NICE TIME.

Hi ladies!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with your very cute YS, his girl and Moe! I chuckled that YS is wearing a shirt with hearts on it. He must be a very confident guy and liberal? It's pretty silly but an awful lot of guys wouldn't wear a shirt with hearts on it.
The last time I had a crepe was a long time ago on the streets of Paris. There are street vendors all over Paris selling 2 things from their carts. Crepes that they make while you watch and then spread with Nutella spread (and nothing else), or foot long hot dogs and cheese baked into the center of a baguette (for $11.50 US years ago). OMG! They are one of the best things I've ever had! I can't remember what the crepes cost. Sure makes wonderful memories though!
And the other thing crepes remind me of is Julia Child on TV making them on her show, and making it look like it's so simple a moron could do it, but I never could master it. LOL
Once in a while in the middle of the night here when I'm still up, I will catch an old episode of Jacques Pepin and Julia when she was much older. What fun to see them again! When I worked in Cambridge, Mass (where Julia lived), I stepped off a curb without looking both ways and Julia came whipping around the corner in her little car and almost ran over me! LOL
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

I miss Gloria...

I love your son's shirt. He's a very handsome guy, and obviously secure enough to wear a shirt with pink hearts and flowers on it. Sounds like you had a fun visit, and I vote for definitely going back for a crepe!
ReplyDeleteMARE.YOU NEED TO HOP A PLANE AND HEAD FOR BOSTON. I GOT A CALL FROM THERE A LITTLE WHILE AGO.HE TOLD ME THAT HE WAKED A MILE IN THE BLIZZARD AROUND ONE IN THE MORNING TO GET BACK TO HIS DORM AFTER BEING WITH FRIENDS. ALSO, HE TOLD ME HE HAD TO HITCH A TAXIE RIDE FROM HARVARD BACK TO HIS SCHOOL IN BOSTON AFTER BEING A JUDGE AT A DEBATE MEETING AT EIGHT AT NIGHT. THE TRAINS WERE SHUT DOWN. THESE YOUNG PEOPLE WON'T LISTEN. WHEN THERE'S A BLIZZARD YOU STAY HOME AND READ. YOU'D THINK THE SCHOOL WOULD SHUT DOWN IN THAT KIND OF WEATHER.DUMB DUMB DUMB. THE SNOW IS OVER BUT THE WINDS WERE TILL BLOWING HARD.
