It wasn't quite the day we thought we were planning but was the right choice.
Dinner and visit with Dad, a stop in to check on Mary E and her hubby (his heart
surgery went well, but was followed within 2 months by a hand surgery!! OUCH besides
being SUPER tired, all is going well.)
I miss the "old days" of little ones, Easter baskets,
dressing up for the very special services
and attending church and a great
Easter meal
Times they are a changin'-and they will again
it's where we are and I am trying to just
embrace that
I hope you all had a blessed day
no matter how we celebrate
for us
it is the *WHY* not the *HOW*
we celebrate this holy day.
Amen....

Hi Mare. Happy Easter to you, too.
ReplyDeleteYOUR DAD LOOKS GREAT AND SO DO YOU AND MIKE. A YOUNG COUPLE NEXT DOOR CAME OVER AND SPENT THE DAY PAINTING OUR HOUSE YESTERDAY. WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT? WE JUST COULDN'T BELIEVE THAT OUT OF THE BLUE SOMEONE WOULD DO SUCH A HARD JOB. THEY KNEW GRAMPS WAS GOING TO DO IT AGAINT MY WISHES BECAUSE OF HIS AGE AND THEY SAID THEY WANTED TO DO IT FOR HIM. THE ONLY THING LEFT TO DO IS THE TRIM WORK. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB AND THE HOUSE LOOKS NEW.. WE DON'T KNOW HOW TO REPAY THEM SO I GUESS IT'LL BE A HOME DEPOT GIFT CARD AND OUT TO DINNER GIFT CARD. THEY SOLD THEIR HOME AND BUILDING A NEW ONE NOT FAR FROM HERE. SO THEY'LL BE ABLE TO USE THINGS FROM HOME DEPOT.
ReplyDeleteTIME FOR BED. IT'S ALWAY GOOD TO SEE YOU MARE.
HUGS, TO ALL
LOU
Amen to that Mare. Many Blessings sent your way! I love the pictures, you all look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLou-what a generous thing for your neighbors to do. Celebrate the good and shout it out loud! In the news we just hear the bad so, THANK YOU for sharing the good news!
Just a personal question for all out there in Mare-blog-land. I know we have a lot of animal lovers so I thought I would reach out for help. My mini doxie Grettel was diagnosed with vertigo a week ago. Started out awful. She couldn't stand or walk without falling down, her head was tilted to the side and her eyes were twitching. Vet said likely vertigo but couldn't rule out something worse. Time would tell. 4 days later she was a little better. Could walk, a little crooked, and her head was still tilted to the side. I have to help her eat. She is on a low dose of prednisone. She is not suffering and acts happy, just far more subdued because of the tilting. Anyway, long story I know...has anyone had a dog that has had this. The vet said it could take 2 weeks to go away. If it doesn't, then more extensive tests will be required to see if it is something else. Thank you. And thank you Mare for indulging my using your blog for my personal use!

Beth, I'm sorry to hear about Grettel. I don't have experience with this, but I have heard of dogs having vestibular disorder, and in the cases I'm thinking of, it has cleared up within a week or two. I'll keep little Grettel in my thoughts. Hopefully, she is feeling better already with her Mom's loving care.
DeleteBETH, SO SORRY.I HATE READING ABOUT YOUR SWEET GRETTEL . I HOPE AND PRAY THAT SHE'LL GET BETTER VERY SOON.

Beth, we haven't had a dog for eons and they never had Vertigo. Those do seem like the exact symptoms for it. I sure wonder what would have caused that. I hope, of course, that it does go away quickly on its own. I would love to see a picture of her when she's better. We had to take our Finney kitty to the vet last week. He's fine now but it cost $700! Xoxox Kathy
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comments. Grettel has improved enough to walk around the yard on her own. We are not sure if she will recover fully, but she is doing much better and for that we are grateful!
