Testing...1.2.3....Testing!!

WELL, that was interesting wasn't it?? Well, I don't know if interesting is the word...Who knew Google Blogs could CRASH! I guess now we know...and..I also know that I'm a blog addict! I found myself racing from blog to blog trying to find ONE that would work (all the while knowing NONE were going to "work"!!)
Poor Katie...she caught the brunt of my frustration in the form of frantic texting...patient gal that one! lol
OK...breathe...feeling better...whew! Now, if I could just locate the post for Kathy and Kevin's anniversary...seems to have been eaten up by the cyber space...BUT, as long as the site is working I guess I won't complain TOO much!
Let me know how you're doing please...Beth..how is the packing going? Granny...you got things under control?? Katie..how's mom and Jeanne (and you with your pneumonia??) MaryE., how is dad doing? His phone seems to be "not working" again (think he hit the mute button maybe!) I see on Amy's blog her oldest son is having a birthday (be sure to check it out) Annie is off saving the world today and *I* am sorting more paperwork and hanging out clothes (and running a few errands).
So to everyone who stops by...I have missed you...my goodness, it has been all of under 48 hours, right??
I am going to run now and do those errands...we have sunshine and I do NOT have to have the heat on in the house today..so I am happy for that too..
Everyone have a great day...
Mare

  1. Yes, still packing on this end. Just took a truck load to charity. I have 3 sections...yardsale, charity and keep.Picked up more boxes at a market yesterday. My realtor is picking me up in a few minutes to go look at the lastest batch of houses on the market. Wish me luck!

  4. Hi little sis! Have to say dad is doing really well today. Paper's are sign, with the help of my wonderful daughter. He was so happy he could do that himself. He was anxious to go to supper when we left. Gave Olivia a ride on his lap in the wheel chair. He just seems content.Of course, you are very responsible for him feeling like this too. He looks to you to take care of business, & was so pleased he could do this "by himself"! You helped make that happen! Thanks for everything! I love you!

  5. Yikes! With Blogger down I think there were a lot of people who suddenly realized what a big part of their lives it is.

I didn't know you were on Blogger and last night was desperately searching for you, alas...alone in my own little world.

Love the grand waltz which is playing.... I close my eyes and imagine my fingers flying over the keyboard............sigh. Mom always said to practice, she was right.

Later.........and hi and happy weekend to everyone.........

  6. Ok Annie, I will close my eyes and pretend you are playing...ahhhh, you are so good!

No luck on the houses...back to the drawing board.

Mary-we love good news about your and Mare's dad, thank you for sharing!

Off to get the pan of chicken enchiladas out of the oven that I made earlier,...yum.

    Forks up!

  7. Finally back to semi-normal, and now I have a ton of blogs to catch up on. Sadly, my blog dashboard is messed up and I'm having to go through every blog that I follow to see if there really are new posts or not. *sigh* Good thing I never sleep.

Yes, we had Jared's birthday yesterday - so for the next month, my kids are 3-5-7-9-11. But then the youngest turns 4 and messes it all up. LOL Jared had a buddy come over after school today, and then the youngest two had a program at playschool, so it's been hectic.

Looking forward to not doing a lot this weekend - although with 5 kids, "not doing a lot" still involves a bunch of running around.

    :)

  8. YAY YAY YAY MARE'S BLOG IS BACK!!!!! I absolutely went thru serious blog withdrawal -- for all the blogs on my list (most of them also on Mare's list! Annie, I'm so glad you're back, too! I am embarrassed to tell you all how many times I checked in the last 36 hours to see if blogs were back yet! ROFL

Beth, I'm so glad your packing is coming along well. A whole truck of things to charity? You must have a big heart (I knew that) and a lot less to pack. LOL Too bad you didn't find any cute houses today. Things happen when they are supposed to, is my philosophy. Hang in there! Oh, can you put your enchilada recipe on Mare's recipe blog in your spare time, please? :)

Mare, first and foremost, I loved our text chat today. You seemed fine to me! My text ears are open for you any time! Second, I love the test pattern you used. You do crack me up! And I remember those on TV! Also delighted to hear the wonderful report from MaryE (Hi Mary! Thanks!!) on your dad! Yay!

To answer your questions, I'll be as brief as I can. Mom is still in the hospital and had to have 2 pints of blood today as they can't get her blood pressure up to normal. (It's usually mega-high). Also, for some reason she can't urinate. The surgery was nowhere near that area. The doc is puzzled. I don't think she'll be going home tomorrow either. She went in Monday and was to stay 2 days. So I'm worried.

Jeanne is okay for the moment. She has been more docile (MOSTLY) lately and I think that's because I suspect she's just had a big jump in the degree of her dementia. I made an appt for a month from now to have her tested and see if there's treatment for it.

My pneumonia is totally gone and I'm fine now. :) Healthy as a horse. (Are horses extra healthy or something?) Thanks for asking about all 3.

I am now in the mode of cramming all the things in that need to be done before we go away next Thursday afternoon. Crunch time. But I'm enjoying it. So looking forward to the sun and beach!

    HI GRANNY! WE'RE BACK! :)

  9. Just a super quick goodnight...I need to take a quick bath and to bed...up early tomorrow...youngest son is coming back from eastern NE on the train but have to drive 120 miles to pick him up..he was to get at 5:15, but his train was delayed so at least 6:15..Told I would be there, but prob not that early! He'll need to read a book or go get a cup of tea!
Katie, you beat me to it! I was going to ask Beth if she would drop the enchilada recipe in our recipe blog...I still haven't gotten the cheeseburger soup recipe, but even though we are getting out of soup season, I will post it whenever i DO get it..it was YUMMO! SO SO good! (and no calories at all I am sure!)
Katie, so sorry to hear that your mom is still in the hospital..are you burning up the nurses station lines checking in? I'm sure they have wanted to yank their phones out of the wall when my parents were in the hospital..I had the folks give permission for me to get updates...I know..I'm a pain, but for what they charge, they can all just deal with it (I'm really not THAT mean!)
Beth..am hoping you find your new home soon..what are you looking for in size, etc? I can't even imagine what the prices must be there..makes me cringe to think of it! Also praying you find one at a good price (unless you are a billionaire and are keeping it a BIG secret!! ???)
Annie...are you on wordpress? That seems like a good idea after this week's fiasco..
MaryE, am SO glad you got over for dad to sign papers...I was SO in hopes he would get to do it..he really needed to. Am so pleased he seems content..who knew??
Ok everyone...I really have to wash up a couple dishes, get a bath and to bed...hope you all have a great sleep..

  10. MARE, I DELETED MY COMMENT BECAUSE OF ALL THE FINGER CLICKING MISTAKES.ISIT WITH THE COMPUTER ON MY LAP AND I'M ALWAY HITTING KEYS THAT I SHOULDN'T HIT. THEN WHEN I REREAD WHAT I WROTE AND SEE WHAT AN ILLITERATE FOOL I LOOK LIKE SOMETIMES I JUST DELETE AFTER I COPY AND PASTE TO CORRECT. THEN I FORGET TO CHECK AND SEE IF IT POST ON THE BLOG. I THINK THAT'S WHAT HAPPEN YESTERDAY. YES THAT WAS A GOOD POST SO IT'LL LEAVE EVERYONE WONDERING WHAT WONDERFUL THINGS I HAD TO SAY TO EACH. YOU CAN TELL MARY WHAT I SAID ABOUT GOING IN TO CHECK ON YOUR DADS' WELFARE AT DIFFERANT TIMES OD THE DAY FOR A FEW WEEKS. DON'T GO THE SAME TIME EACH DAY. I WAS TOLD THAT BY THE NURSING HOME.SO IMPORTANT.

    GOOD MORNING ALL.

  13. My poetry/photography blog is Word Press. My format is very structured: photo - poem , so I can't compare it to Blogger and changing stuff around.

One "crash" is how many years? - I guess that's not too bad, just a reminder, eh?

We all are creatures of habit and the slightest disruption throws us for a loop.

  14. Granny - First "hi" there kiddo. Do you have Word? Sometimes I write stuff in Word first, especially if it is long and then copy it to 'comments' that way you can get it how you want it before posting. Just a suggestion.

I don't like my laptop for writing on really, I am always hitting some odd key that changes everything......of course I'm slouching in a chair as I do it, probably not the best writing posture.........lol

Have a great day and weekend, Granny and everyone...

  15. ANNIE, NO I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT WORD IS ALL ABOUT. I DO SIT SLOUCH IN MY CHAIR. THAT'S THE FUN OF IT ALL. IF I HAD TO SIT BEHIND A DESK ALL DAY I WOULDN'T EVEN GO ON THE COMPUTER..I HAVE TO SIT WITH MY LEGS UP. HEALTH PROBLEMS. THIS IS JUST A HOBBY FOR ME. IT GIVES ME SOMETHING TO DO. YOUR SUGGESTION IS A GOOD ONE.THANKS. NOW I'LL HAVE TO FIND SOMEONE TO TEACH ME WHAT WORD IS ALL ABOUT. LOL

KATIE I HOPE YOUR MOM IS A LITTLE BETTER TONIGHT. LET US KNOW.

  16. HI Mare and all other bloggers who roam here!
No billionaire here!...and yes, the prices are horrible. If I went further east of here they would be better but I don't want to move further away from my mom, church, friends and basically all my life is here. It may happen in the future but for now, I would like to stay fairly close. I am basically looking for a 3 bedroom, 2 or 3 bath house with a nice kitchen that opens into a family room.
Every time I think I am close there is something that I just don't like. I do agree with Katie, when it is right it will happen. I just hope I am smart enough to know when the right time is!

Hope you all had a nice Saturday and will have a lovely Sunday!

    Hugs, Beth

  17. Good evening all...went to pick up youngest son from the train station and then>>>this is EXCITING!!....we were going down the street and saw a goodwill and it was having a *gasp* grand opening!!!! (I live a very sheltered life lol!) There was a guy twirling his signboard advertising on the corner (he was VERY talented :) and TONS of people...everything was 1/2 price (except for a couple tag colors) AND all jeans were .99cents! How exciting is that? asked son if minded stopping and he was up for it...He found a pair of jeans (his 36x36 are a little hard for him to find) a couple shirts, a sport coat, a pair of sunglasses and a pr of shorts with a grand total of (drumroll please) $8.00! He was thrilled...very thrifty and doesn't like a lot of extras so never has a ton of clothes, but was needing a few...after the nearly 200 pound weight loss he is (needless to say) down on his clothes AND is now quite picky (just because he can be!) It was so funny to me...they were having drawings hourly and at noon were going to have a drawing for an ipad! Also, they had muffins, coffee, water, orange juice...they meant business! Very nice (and even smelled really good in there!) Ok, so I probably really need a life, but was fun.
Was super tired, so when I got home I climbed in the recliner, turned on the heat (STILL cold here) grabbed a blanket and SLEPT! oh, did it ever feel great!
Annie, you are SO right about creatures of habit..I want what I'm used to!! :)
Beth..would LOVE to have the chicken enchilada recipe if you do get a chance...
Katie...hows your mom today? Hope making progress.
Granny...YOU KNOW WE LOVE YOUR POSTS AND YOU DO GREAT...I ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN AND I MAKE JUST AS MANY MISTAKES! YOU POST WHATEVER YOU LIKE...AM ANXIOUS TO CHECK OUT THE BLOG YOU MENTIONED.
Amy..hope you survived the "birthday weekend" (or just the weekend in general LOL)
Ok, NOW I really need to finish stirring up cookies that I started and wash up some dishes...
Hope you have all had a good day and have wonderful evening..

  18. I love a good bargain!!!

We ended up running all day again but it was a blast! I posted a ton of pictures on my blog - one especially for Granny - so I hope that she sees it!

Now I have a ton of bloggy stuff to do along with a ton of laundry and other house stuff....it just never ends!

    :)

  19. Mare, what fun!! And your son lost 200 pounds??? WOW!!! Kudos to him! He's so cute!

Beth, your wishes for a house sound pretty reasonable! Here's hoping --- soon!

Amy, sounds like you had a lot of fun this weekend. Yay!

GRANNY, MOM IS A LITTLE BETTER TONIGHT. HER BLOOD PRESSURE IS STILL TOO LOW THOUGH. THEY GAVE HER 2 PINTS OF BLOOD YESTERDAY TO TRY TO BOOST IT UP SOME. IT ONLY CAME UP A TINY BIT. SHE IS HAVING SOME OTHER PROBLEMS, BUT SOUNDED BETTER TONIGHT.

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR ASKING ABOUT MOM AND KEEPING HER IN YOUR THOUGHTS!

I may skip going to the MILs tomorrow. I have a lot to do to get ready for vacation. Kevin says it's a ton easier on him when I go so I might cave, though. He's so sweet!

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

  22. Hi Katie. I am getting ready to go to a garden tour this afternoon. We had a little rain this morning, but that's gone, and the sun is out, the sky is blue and the breeze is blowing. A beautiful Spring day in CA. I need to work in my own garden today, but it's more fun to go see what other people have done. It's one of my favorite things to do in Spring--snoop in other people's yards. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

  23. Hey everyone! Chilly again today...of course...what is UP with that??
Luvs..the garden tour sounds wonderful! Not enough garden "up" around here to go look at :) I have a horrible case of envy eerytime my "california" friends blog...Don't know if I could handle the amount of people out there (or is that a misconception??) but would LOVE to try a bit of that weather for a change :)
Beth..still packing?? wish I could help...
Katie..how is mom today? Hope better..
Hugs to all...have a great day..
    Mare

  24. oh..and LUVS..you said the magic word around here "snoops...I LOVE a good "snoop"..into other people lives, houses, yards, cars, etc etc! You fit right in!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Mare, yeah and I'm sorry you took down that quote you had up top for a while, about snooping! LOL

They sent mom home from the hospital today. She hasn't kept any solid food down since her surgery last Tuesday but they didn't even prescribe anything for nausea. And her blood pressure is still real low. I just have to talk to the doc tomorrow. I don't know if I'm making too much of this or not. She IS 80. But she's still my mommy. LOL

Skipped Jeanne's today. Yay. Ten dollars says she'll call me within 3 hours with a problem, even though Kevin is there now.

Luvs, the garden tour sounds just lovely!

It's 75 here despite what the thermometer on the page says. Rained most of the morning but the sun is out now. Should be motivating me to do things but it's not. Ah oh! LOL

  26. Hello Everyone,
Mare-forgot to comment on your son's great finds at Goodwill. I also love a good bargain, yardsale or swapmeet! And WOW, I don't remember hearing about his weight loss, that is fantastic! Took the morning off, well I guess the day off, to drive 45 minutes to hear our former associate pastor at her new church. She got a church of her own a year ago and we have been trying ever since to go hear her. She was great! On the way back we stopped at a local farmer's market and then drove by my daughter's school that she will be teaching at in the fall. I don't know if I shared with all of you but she finally got a teaching job!!!,...WITH benefits! Please say a prayer or give her good thoughts about this being a good fit. It is at a small private school about 45 minutes from home but she is just thrilled to have gotten a teaching job. They are scarce these days in CA.
    Back to packing tomorrow...
    Hugs, Beth

  27. Katie-don't feel bad about calling and checking up on your mom or asking questions. My mom was a nurse for 40 years and she taught us to ALWAYS ask questions and NOT to treat Doctors like they are on a pedistal. We have to be our own advocates. So hang in there girl, and be a pest!...and I mean that in the nicest way! :-)
Will still keep your mom in my prayers.
    Hugs, Beth

  28. Good a.m. all...will post here this morning as I meant to write something yesterday and saw the pictures of my gdaughter's hands and wanted to write a post on that...anyway..we have SUNSHINE today!! Have the heat on, but that's ok..hopefully will warm up a bit as school will be out here at the end of the week. The swimming pool should open soon after that and there are kids that always go BUT will probably have to chip the ice off of it to get in this year (JK!)
Beth, sounds like fun to visit your former pastor's church...did you find a good place to eat on the way back?? And congrats to your daughter on her job...that is great! Will she live with you (she does now??) Also didn't realize you have TWO sisters...does the other one live closeby too?
Katie, have to agree with Beth...call call call ..the drs, the nurse's station, etc and when she is home I would call her friends to go ck in on her even if she doesn't care for it! (I sometimes tell them to PLEASE not say anything about me calling and they thought friends just checked in on them) I called the pastor, etc etc..Hopefully the family will step up and help her out. Am concerned about them sending her home...darn medicare anyway! Don't be surprised if she goes back in (and that might not be a bad thing!) I have even called the ambulance after I talked to the folks (I would give mom a heads up and then do it!) I have called the drs office and talked to the drs, etc. Maybe it's different where they live(ed) in a small town. I call the nursing home as well (and Granny, MaryE drops in off and on at different times and so does my niece and her kids) We are very blessed to have him in a good (small) home.
Amy...I need to go back and ck on your blog again for more pictures. I loved the links you posted to MORE blogs...just what I need! MORE blogs lol! The feather and nest one is good Granny..went and cked it out.
LUVS..you gardening today? Annie...what about you...have any of those pretty pink flowers like last year?
Really need to get busy..hubby is off work today and tomorrow (his weekend)
    Have a great day everyone...
