Simple Sunday

Life's Leftovers....

p.s.  I didn't buy anything myself...Only thing was what Hubs bought
Why SUNDAY you might ask..well, because we have been loading the product trailer for the store so that Hubby can hit the road tomorrow and head for a county fair north of where we live...I went in at 6:30 this a.m. as some product had spilled and it is SO hot out that I wasn't waiting until that "hunk o' metal" turned into an oven!!! SO...hubby came in a bit after I did and I had cleaned, hung up tack and took out boots, etc etc...Hubs tied everything down and pulled in the steps and there she sits...ready to hit the road...whew!
With all this going on it was nice that his sister said she'd work for him Sunday afternoon and we could spend the whole day doing...whatever.. :)
I almost took a picture of my BARE fridge just so you could believe me when I said we had NOTHING in the house to eat and really needed to get to a grocery store..
Hubby had read of an auction that was in a town on our way to get groceries...ball card?? BALL CARDS!!! Have to say he was excited to check it out...we stopped there and stayed just a few minutes and then on to get groceries and pick up medicine...we stopped again on our way past as we came home and I sat in the car so it would run and not ruin the cold things...I waited...and waited...and...well, youget the idea...
Anyway, as you will see in the video Hubby scored the ball cards, but has been too busy yet to look at them!
The heat is a MONSTER here as is the humidity...no rain as of yet... (I don't like rain, but even I know we need it!) Saw a neighborhood cat under my flower wagon and then out in the alley drive that has grass trying to cool off so I set out a bowl of water...I think there are enough "critters" around to munch on, but that water is SO important...when I left this a.m. early I saw a gray car meandering around.....hope all the outside animals are doing ok..
Well, as I sit typing I can hardly see straight and could almost take a little nap...and I just might..but need a shower too!!!
Hope you are all comfortable where you are...Be Cool ;)

  1. Hi Mare,
I left a comment in the last post saying that we are having really nice weather...sorry!, after last week when we had 3 days of humidity. This spoiled Cali. girl was so happy when our weather finally came back. It is warmish during the day, 80's to low
90's and then really nice and cool at night. No humidity, come visit!!! Worked out in the yard today, even talked my son into helping me.

GREAT deal that your hubby got. If I tell Mr.NYC I know he will be jealous. He loves anything baseball.

I went to the Rose Bowl swapmeet and bought 3 old picture frames that I am going to try and make into bulletin boards. If I actually do it, I will send pictures.

    Hugs, Beth

  3. I had to grin at 'life's leftovers.' I've not seen a standing ashtray in many years when my Dad had one.

I wish we could get a little rain too--We need it as well, and maybe it'll cool things off for just a little while!!

  6. Love all the old fans! I found one at an estate sale a few years back, and I love it. Hope it cools down in your area, Mare. Like Beth said, it's been nice here. We had a few days of humidity, and everyone was belly aching about it. We truly are spoiled! I just heard on Today, that a family was cleaning out the old family homestead, and found baseball cards worth 3.5 million dollars. May Mike be so lucky!

  7. Hello Mare and fellow Mare-bloggers!
    Good Saturday to you all.
Another hotish day here. Beautiful blue skies and a little toasty. No plans for today just flying by the seat of my pants!
    Enjoy the day!
    Hugs, Beth
