| Not feeling so great |
Yes, it's certainly hot outside, but that's not the only temp that was rising this last week! Mike took the store trailer to a county fair and wound up in the hospital! he said he wasn't feeling the best but with the temps and humidity so high when he went to unhook and rehook and put out displays he kind of "lost it"..was .disoriented and passed out, etc...not good.
They had a nurse on site at the fair, and when she saw him she said "call 911"..!!
My sister-in-law called me at the store as I was working and said, "I'll be right there to pick you up!!" so in she came and off we went...it was only 35 miles, but of course we wanted to get there asap.
Long story short, Mike was running a fever, very dehydrated and had bronchitis. Because of the pain in his chest and joints he wound up staying from Wednesday to Friday to clear him of all cardiac involvement (which turned out to be negative, thankfully)

| Lots of blood drawn and LOTS of IV fluids to rehydrate |
 |
| He was MORE than a little dizzy! Had to watch him! |
 |
| I was FREEZING in the hospital...coffee while I was waiting helped! |
 |
| Exhausted and dizzy after the treadmill test...although he DID pass! |
 |
| A great view of the heli pad from his room |
 |
| When they said he could go home this was all I saw!!! He was OUT of there! :) |
SO, my week didn't go quite as planned...I felt badly as my sister-in-law is getting ready to send her hubby to their cabin in Minnesota to put on the log siding, and she was getting ready to head to Florida to be with their youngest daughter who is training for the Youth World Quarterhorse Shoe in Oklahoma at the first of August. Busy bunch! She has been manning the trailer in these high temps and her son was watching the store...having Mike home and recuperating, I went in to the store today so the others could have a break...
WHEW...and how was YOUR week???
Mare- wow what a week!! Sorry to hear Mike felt so bad but glad to hear he is recovering nicely. You remember to take care of yourself as well :)

Mare-Look what happens when I turn my back for just a second! My thoughts have been "I wonder what Mare is up to" lately and now I know why! I have heard of MANY people having big problems lately due to dehydration. A friend of my mom's was really ill and they finally found out it was all due to that. Drink water...lots of it! Fill a large container with a days worth and keep it with you so you know you are getting enough.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Mike is better! And I agree, take care of you!
Hugs, Beth
MARE, JUST STOPPING IN BEFORE I GO TO BED.
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS FOR YOUR HUBBY.
NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP. I PRAY TO THE LORD MY SOUL TO KEEP. IF I SHOULD DIE BEFORE I WAKE I PRAY FOR MIKE FOR COMPLETE HEALING.
NOW GOOD NIGHT.

Well you know how my week has been! Worrying about everything going on there. Will just be glad when everything is "normal" again! I do hope you take care of yourself & very thankful Mike is home. Dad said he talked to Mike, so that did make him feel better. He has been so worried.
ReplyDeleteIt has been so hot. I havent been out that much. Except for a quick trip to Norfolk & to see dad. We also went along to Omaha with Son & family yesterday. An unexpected trip & a fun one. (Kept thinking of y ou little sis, & wishing I had you there with me)!
Hope you all stay well. There has been some sickness around. Believe fair starts around the 28th, so, will try to get there to watch a couple grandkids show calves. Its a very small fair, so not a lot of walking around. Hoping my husband will take one day off to go watch the kids, that always makes them happy.
Take care little sis, call me if you need me . Love you!
Good morning everyone...well, Mike went back into work today...being a small store, he CAN sit down if need be..there are even couches he COULD stretch out on if it was absolutely necessary..he is, however doing a TON better!
ReplyDeleteI, on the otherhand, am a MESS! YUCK..coughing, sneezing..coughing, dripping..and did i say coughing?? ugh! Headed across the state at the end of the week so this has GOT to get under control!
Hope you are all staying well.
Mare
Oh, Mare, I hope you get better soon! Take good care!
ReplyDeleteMARE, JUST A HINT. ONE TIME YEARS AGO GRAMPS GOT VERY ILL AND JUST COULDN'T GET OVER THE BUG. HE WAS RIGHT IN BED. SOMETHING HE NEVER DOES IS LAY IN BED EVEN WHEN HE'S SICK.HE NEVER GETS A COLD OR WHATEVER. THE BIG C, YES, BUT EVEN THAT GOT TAKEN CARE OF AND HE'S BEEN C FREE NOW FOR A WHILE. ANYWAYS. HE JUST COULDN'T GET RID OF THIS BUG. I WAS TALKING TO A [MAN] NEIGHBOR THAT LIVED BEHIND OUR HOME AT THE TIME AND HE WANTED TO KNOW IF GRAMPS WAS ANY BETTER, I SAID NO AND HE TOLD ME TO BUY VIT. C PILLS AND TAKE ALOT. IT WON'T HURT YOU BECAUSE YOU P// IT OUT. LOW AND BEHOLD IT WORKED EVEN OVER ALL THE MEDICINE THE DOCTOR TRIED. GIVE IT A TRY. SO HAPPY MIKE IS FEELING BETTER. SEE MY LAY ME DOWN PRAYER WORKED. SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT. LOL AGAIN.

Mare...Oh my goodness!! You have had your hands full. Glad to read all is well with your husband. This heat has been awful and I have had to stay in house with the AC. That call that he was in the hospital must of scared you. Glad the doctors took the extra measure and checked out his heart and all. Glad to read he is back to work.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Gloria
