Who's with me on this? I have SO much and yet NOTHING to say about entering a new year.
I don't see a new year as a do-over, but rather a fresh start. A time to "rethink" how I've been thinking,
I see it as a time to take a look at the things that I feel need to be changed and move forward toward the goal of making this life I've been given into the best it can be.
There have been things that have happened that I can't change no matter how much I want to. There are things I wish were different-better. All I can do is do my best.
Yes, I am one of "those" people that make resolutions. And yes, I do find them helpful. I try not to make huge unattainable goals, but rather attainable steps-sometimes they are just baby steps-but steps none the less.
So here we all sit on the brink looking out over the New Year of 2014. May it be a year of peace, and growth and of even a few "extras" whatever form that may take for you.
For me, I have to sum it up by saying that for 2014 my main goal is to be content with who I am and where I am and what I have. My motto has honestly become, "it is what it is" and I say it frequently. My way of reminding myself to be responsible for me and to accept where I am. I pray 2014 will be a year that I can remember to have an attitude of gratitude and not allow others to make me feel less-less happy, less content, less worthy. No one can be responsible for me and how I react to life but me.
This is the perfect time to tell you all how I am thankful for your friendship throughout 2013. I am very blessed. We may never meet in person but I count you as my friends.
God's richest blessings on each one of you as we move into 2014.

ReplyDeleteI stayed awake and Lou mentioned fireworks, where I live now they had a big fireworks display at midnight out at Onondaga Lake Park. The sky was bright as day.

GLORIA, I BET IT WAS BEAUTIFUL, THAT'S WHERE THEY BELONG WHERE NO ONE CAN GET HURT. A KID HERE IS IN THE HOSPITALAS I WRITE THIS NOTE. HE'S FROM OUR AREA. [ NEW YEARS EVE] HE HAD FIREWORKS IN HIS POCKET AND ONE WENT OFF. HOW I DON'T KNOW. [CRAZY]. ANYWAYS HIS GRANDFATHER SAID ON THE NEWS THAT IT BURNED THE SKIN OFF HIS LEG FROM HIS CROTCH DOWN TO HIS FEET. SO SAD. HE'S AWAKE AND TALKING.

Happy New Year everyone! We had a fun NYE out with some friends. Had a designated driver, so all was good! Today we got snowed in! Well, not really. Not compared to when I lived in New England! LOL We got about 7 inches of snow and right now it's 5 degrees out. Our wood stove keeps the house nice and warm! I don't make resolutions but I love it for people who do! I just know this year will be a lot better for us than last year! And last year really wasn't all that bad except for one thing.
